Folau Fakatava is a lightning-quick and creative scrum-half, known for his sharp attacking vision, clean service, and willingness to engage in the physical side of the game. He stands 177 cm tall and weighs 80 kg, combining agility with toughness and a strong work ethic. Fakatava moved to New Zealand and attended Hastings Boys’ High School, where he made a name for himself through outstanding schoolboy performances culminating in making th NZ schools side in his last year of school. He made his provincial debut for Hawke’s Bay in his first year out of school His strong performances at NPC level, including being awarded the Duane Monkley Medal for Player of the Year, earned him a Super Rugby contract with the Highlanders in 2019 in just his second year out of school. Fakatava’s international career began in 2022 when he qualified for the All Blacks. He made his test debut in July 2022 against Ireland. Since then, he has also featured for the All Blacks XV and in 2025 played for the AU/NZ invitational XV against the British and Irish Lions.
